Everything you need to know before booking your ride through the Carpathians.
You can book directly through our website or by contacting us via email or phone. Select your dates, choose a bike, and complete the reservation with a 20% advance payment. You'll receive an instant confirmation with all the details for your pickup day.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) for both the advance payment and the security deposit. Bank transfers are accepted for the advance payment if made at least 7 days before pickup. We do not accept cash or debit cards for the security deposit.
A refundable deposit between €500 and €1,500 (depending on the bike) is pre-authorized on your credit card at pickup. No cash is taken. The hold is released within 5–10 business days after you return the bike in good condition. Debit cards are not accepted for deposits.
Cancel more than 14 days before your rental start date for a full refund. Between 7–14 days, you receive a 50% refund or a full-value voucher for a future booking. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable, but the booking can be rescheduled once at no extra cost.
No. The daily rate, included gear, and insurance are clearly listed at booking. The only potential extras are: optional Premium Protection (€15/day), one-way drop fees, excess mileage on short rentals (€0.25/km over 250 km/day), and a refueling charge if the tank isn't returned full.
Yes. Weekly rates offer roughly 15–20% savings over the daily rate. Rentals of 14 days or more receive custom pricing — contact us for a quote. We also run seasonal early-bird deals in spring; subscribe to our newsletter for those.
You'll need a valid Category A motorcycle license held for at least 2 years, a valid passport or national ID, and a credit card in your name for the security deposit. Non-EU riders must also carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their national license.
Minimum 24 years of age for large displacement bikes (above 900cc), 21 for middleweights (below 900cc). There is no upper age limit, but all riders must hold a valid license and be physically fit to operate the motorcycle safely.
If your license is issued by an EU/EEA country, no — your national license is sufficient. For all other countries (UK post-Brexit included), you must carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your original license. The IDP must be obtained in your home country before travel.
Yes, you can add an additional rider to the contract at no extra charge, provided they meet the same license and age requirements. Both riders must be present at pickup to sign the rental agreement and present their documents.
Standard insurance (included in every rental) covers third-party liability and theft. You are responsible for a damage excess of up to €1,500. This excess applies per incident. The insurance is valid across Romania and, with prior approval, in EU/Schengen countries.
For an additional €15/day, Premium Protection reduces your damage excess to €0. It also covers windscreen, tyre, and minor cosmetic damage that would otherwise fall outside standard coverage. It does not cover damage caused by off-road riding on bikes not rated for it, or riding under the influence.
Document the damage with photos and call us immediately. With standard insurance, you're liable for repair costs up to the excess amount (€500–€1,500 depending on the bike). With Premium Protection, you pay nothing. Damage caused by gross negligence, riding under the influence, or unauthorized off-road use is not covered by either policy.
Yes, theft is covered under standard insurance with the same excess amount. You must file a police report within 24 hours and provide us with the report number. Always use the provided disc lock when parking and never leave the keys in the ignition.
Our fleet includes adventure and touring bikes suited for Romania's diverse roads: BMW R1250 GS, Yamaha Ténéré 700, and Honda CB500X among others. Each bike is maintained to manufacturer specifications and fitted with crash protection. Check our Motorcycles page for the full lineup with specs and pricing.
Every rental comes with a premium helmet and a phone/GPS mount. Riding jackets, gloves, and boots are available to rent separately. We strongly recommend bringing your own gear for the best fit and comfort on multi-day rides.
Rentals of 3 days or fewer include 250 km/day. Weekly rentals and longer come with unlimited mileage. Extra kilometers on short rentals are charged at €0.25/km — but upgrading to a weekly rate almost always works out cheaper.
Bikes are handed over with a full tank and should be returned full. If the tank isn't full on return, we'll charge a refueling fee at market rate plus a €15 service charge. Romania has frequent fuel stations on all major routes — we mark the best stops on your GPS guide.
Absolutely — just call or message us at least 24 hours before your scheduled return. Extensions are subject to availability and charged at the standard daily rate. If you're on a weekly rate, we'll prorate the extra days at the same discounted rate.
Every bike is professionally serviced between rentals and inspected using a 40-point checklist. Tyres, brakes, fluids, chain tension, and electronics are all verified. You'll receive a condition report at pickup — we walk through it together so there are no surprises at return.
Every rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance across Romania. Call our emergency line and we'll either send a mechanic to your location or arrange a replacement bike. If the breakdown is not caused by rider negligence, all recovery costs are covered by us.
Yes, cross-border travel is allowed into EU/Schengen countries (Hungary, Bulgaria) with prior written approval. Travel to non-EU countries such as Moldova, Ukraine, or Serbia is not permitted due to insurance restrictions. Let us know your planned route when booking and we'll sort the paperwork.
All pickups and returns happen at our headquarters in Cluj-Napoca, just 15 minutes from Cluj International Airport. We can arrange a free airport transfer on the day of pickup. One-way drops to Bucharest or Sibiu are available for an additional fee.
Yes — every rental includes our curated digital route guides loaded onto a GPS device or available as GPX files for your phone. Routes cover the best passes, scenic roads, fuel stops, and recommended overnight spots. We update them each season based on road conditions.
Main national roads and European routes (DN/E roads) are generally in good condition. Mountain passes like the Transfăgărășan and Transalpina are well-paved but narrow with tight switchbacks. Secondary roads in Maramureș and rural areas can include gravel and unpaved sections. Our route guides flag surface conditions so you know exactly what to expect.
Romania is a fantastic riding destination with low traffic density outside cities and spectacular scenery. That said, watch out for livestock on rural roads, aggressive overtaking by local drivers on two-lane roads, and poorly marked construction zones. Ride defensively, especially at dusk. Our briefing covers all the local quirks before you set off.
It depends on the route. The Transfăgărășan and most touring routes are fully paved and suitable for confident road riders. Maramureș includes mixed terrain (gravel, dirt) and requires some off-road comfort. We clearly mark difficulty levels on every tour so you can choose what fits your skill level.
Both. Self-guided tours include the bike, GPS route files, a detailed roadbook, and hotel recommendations. Guided tours add a lead rider, support vehicle, luggage transfer, and pre-booked accommodation. Group sizes for guided tours are capped at 8 riders to keep things personal.
Absolutely. Our standard tours are a starting point — we regularly adjust routes, add rest days, or swap sections based on your preferences and skill level. Custom tours require at least 4 weeks notice so we can scout and verify road conditions on your specific route.
Guided tour packages include the motorcycle rental, all riding gear, fuel for the bike, accommodation (3–4 star hotels or curated guesthouses), breakfast daily, GPS navigation, a lead rider, support vehicle for luggage, roadside assistance, and all route planning. Lunches, dinners, and personal expenses are not included.
May through October offers the best riding conditions. The high mountain passes (Transfăgărășan, Transalpina) typically open in late June and close in late October depending on snowfall. June and September are the sweet spot — warm weather, dry roads, and fewer tourists. July–August is peak season with more traffic on popular routes.
For guided tours in peak season (July–August), we recommend booking 2–3 months ahead as group sizes are limited. Self-guided tours and standalone rentals can usually be arranged with 1–2 weeks notice. Shoulder season (May, June, September, October) has better availability across the board.
